As always, did a lot of research on Consumer Reports, CNet and Best Buy. Amazon is always greatest in price. I have this hooked up with my 5 Mirage Nanoset speakers to Pioneer 1018 Receiver. This subwoofer definitely stands out. We love it.I would rate it higher than my Bose system and subwoofer. I watch blu ray movies, listen to songs, watch videos etc. I'm very impressed with the buy and price.
Need a more powerful sub to pair with your speakers. Bottom line, if you have a space issue, you can't do better than this at this price. Have a space issue but don't care about price. Could not be happier. Check out the Polk DSW microPRO 1000 or 2000. Good tight bass when playing music. I have a tight space to fit my HT so this was perfect. Really enhances the movie watching experience.
I would recommend a bigger sub if you need to place it along a wall in anything bigger than a 12x12 room. I would have given this 4.5 stars. I've got it hooked up to a Polk SurroundBar 50 and the overall effect is very nice for not much more than $1000 total. My living room is a little cavernous and I probably should have bought a bigger sub myself. If you've got a corner for this, though, the sound is tight, the connections are good, and I think it's a very attractive piece of audio equipment. The deduction is because it is extremely affected by placement, though to be fair that's true of any subwoofer. I'm a little surprised that this one has lost almost all its punch now that I've moved it out of the corner, though.
I highly recommend this product. I'm not an electronics expert and I can't, therefore, review this product with any technical savvy. All I can say is that it emits outstanding sound for such a small subwoofer, comparable to larger subwoofers, and that my four year old son, who is a more discerning elctronics consumer than I, has had no complaints.
It has a small footprint with a big sound. I replaced a rather large set of Sony surround sound speakers with the PolK Audio RM10 Speaker System. My Set-up: TV: Vizio XVT series 42" RECEIVER: Sony STR-DH700 BLUE RAY: Sony BDP-S360 SPEAKERS: Polk Audio surround RM10 set w/ PSW111 Subwoofer My living room has never sounded better. (the wife said the Sonys took up too much room) I didn't even attempt to hook them up without adding a subwoofer. I went with the PSW111 and am so glad I did.
